Skippack Township Applauds Montgomery County Tax Rebate for Volunteer Fire and EMS Personnel
Skippack Township, PA – Skippack Township’s Board of Supervisors expresses its gratitude towards Montgomery County for introducing a tax rebate program aimed at recognizing the invaluable contributions of volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel.
On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, Skippack Township hosted an informational meeting on “Safeguarding Our Communities: A Discussion on the Future Sustainability of Local EMS and Fire Departments”. Montgomery County Commissioner Tom DiBello, along with twelve municipalities, State Senator Tracy Penncyuick, and State Representatives Donna Scheuren and Matt Bradford were in attendance.
Volunteer firefighters and EMS responders play a crucial role in safeguarding communities, often risking their lives to ensure the safety and well-being of residents. Recognizing their dedication and sacrifice, Montgomery County has taken a commendable step by instituting a tax rebate program to honor these brave individuals.
Skippack Township Vice Chair Nick Fountain commented, "We are deeply appreciative of Montgomery County's initiative to provide tax rebates to our volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel. These individuals demonstrate unwavering commitment and selflessness in serving our community, and this rebate program is a meaningful way to acknowledge their invaluable contributions." Fountain also noted Skippack Township implemented an Earned Income Tax Credit for the township’s Fire and EMS volunteers several years ago.
