11/12/24 UPDATE - The Township has been in communication with the PA Liquor Control Board and they have informed us that investigations had taken place in Skippack and, as a result, warnings were issued. The Township had an informative meeting with the LCB and some of the establishments to learn about the code and how decibel readings are measured. There must be a reading of 75 decibels or less measured from a decibel reader at the property line. Anything over 75 decibels is considered a violation.
Noise Level Concerns - Due to a number of complaints regarding outdoor music sound levels, we wanted to share the Pennsylvania state regulations regarding bars and restaurants and outdoor noise. Please be aware that Skippack Township has always followed and will continue to follow an 11pm noise cutoff on Fridays and Saturdays out of consideration for our community. However, in July 2022, Governor Wolf signed Act 67 amending the Liquor Code, loosening regulations pertaining to amplified sound being heard from restaurant and bar venues.
Skippack Township Chairman Paul Fox and the Board of Supervisors are working with our state legislators to ensure sound restrictions for commercial establishments within Skippack Village are appropriate for our community. We appreciate the feedback and look forward to working with our residents and business owners to charter the best way forward!
