Skippack Township property owners pay real estate taxes to three entities: Skippack Township, Montgomery County and Perkiomen Valley School District. Real estate taxes for Skippack Township and Montgomery County are levied for the calendar year, January 1 to December 31. Real estate taxes for the Perkiomen Valley School District are levied for a fiscal year that begins on July 1 and ends on June 30.
Real estate taxes are collected by an elected tax collector. The tax collector's authority to collect taxes is based on Pennsylvania Tax Code. The tax collector is authorized to collect the current year's county, school, and township real estate taxes.
